Harmonica World
Review by Norman Darwen

This Anglo-Dutch duo features Alan Laws, a veteran of the 1980s South London folk-blues scene (with Simon Prager), on harmonica, guitar and vocals with Rene Tweehuysen’s tasty dobro and lap steel guitar. This varied 13 track acoustic CD is their debut. It includes self penned songs and instrumentals. Some numbers feature a downhome Mississippi hill country sound, but most are folkier. There is exquisite cover of Taj Mahal's Lovin' In My Baby's Eyes and a rare inclusion of Greg Allman’s Whipping Post. The sound the two men create is individual, distinctive and very pleasing.
